There is no charge to participate in Bulldog Football.  However, each player is expected to participate in our fundraisers.

The PGA will provide the following equipment to all players involved in the Bulldog Football Program:

Helmet

Shoulder pads

Football pants and belt

Pads for the pants

Game jersey

Mouthguard

The following equipment is the responsibility of the player:

cleats (must be plastic)

practice jersey (can purchase from PGA)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have a physical before I play?

• A physical is not required by our league but certainly is a good idea for your own benefit to verify no underlying conditions that may be aggrevated by playing sports.  We only need to have the Yellow medical card filled out.

What kind of cleats should I buy?

• Cleats must be plastic molded or plastic detachable.  Cleats must not be made of metal or have metal tips.  Metal tipped cleats will create traction problems on the synthetic turf.

Can the players wear a face shield?

• Face shields can be worn but must be clear.

Can I buy my own mouthguard?  Or get one through my dentist?

• Mouthguards must be colored.  Clear mouthguards are not allowed!  If you need to purchase one through your dentist try to get one that is colored.  If it has to be clear, you can always wrap colored tape around the strap so the referees can see that the player has it in.  PGA will provide each player with a colored mouthguard to start the season.

Can the players wear gloves?

• Gloves can be worn but must have the NFHS/NCAA approved tag on them.
